Thoughts For The Volleyball Tournament

Dear beloved in Christ,
What matters most to us Christians? Is it not the glory of our God?

Drenched in our sweat, pounded by the sun's heat, and entrenched in a spirited competition, it is easy to lose focus on what matters most to us. Driven to win, we may sway to put down the other team, even though they are children of our holy God, and equally worse, we may "cheat" if it will produce a point for us. As you well know, this brings shame to our Father, and not glory. May we never do this. And if one of us falters here, let us gently, loving, wisely and yet firmly correct him/her, that we will not bring shame to our heavenly Father.

May we enjoy His goodness throughout this day. Cheer well, both for our church, but also for His church on the other side of the net. Let us learn to be thankful in win and in a loss, so that our Father is always glorified. As you know, if we win at the cost of bringing shame to our Father, then we are the worst losers of all. And if our brothers/sisters on the other side of the net are succumbed to their temptation, then be gracious and overlook their sins, for Christ's love covers a multitude of sin. And I believe this bring glory to our Father.

So, let us all remember, we enter into this tournament, not with the goal to win, but with the earnest desire to bring glory to our Father. Yes, brothers and sisters, can you picture God's joy, as we delight to bring glory to Him?

If you would like to read a bit more of my thoughts on this tournament, then please read the 2 page attachment. You can read this in Korean, inside the program for Saturday's v-ball tournament schedule.

Thank you for giving me time for refreshment, prayer, and long thoughts.

Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend.
