Men - how to encourage your wives

Dear Men and their lovely wives,
First - to the men.
Men, you have heard that it was said, behind every great men, there is an even greater women (that means your wife). Or if we delete the word great because some of us are more humble than others, then it would read, behind every men, there is still a better women (this also means your wife). Hmmmm, no matter how we slice it, in order for the man to be well, God has placed a better woman there to support, to help, which is why she is called a Helper.

Second - also to the men.
Dear men, did you know you can truly encourage and bless your wives, the very people that pray for you, cook for you, clean after you, compliment your good look though you know you are not that handsome, thank you for the little support you occasionally offer, and most of all, out of love and obedience to our God, they support and help you? Dear men, did you know you can truly bless these very saints God has placed in your life? How, you ask? Twofold. First, by telling them, you will come home early on Weds and totally take care of the children, so she does not have to worry at all, period. She can be worry-free. Second, by encouraging her "Go to the QT study with Pastor Joshua, it will be one of the best decision we can make for our family." Because if she is blessed, then your whole family will also get a taste of His goodness, because His goodness always spills over to those around us. So, men, bless your wives. Free them and encourage them to navigate their way to the mountaintop of Milpitas, to join the chorus of angelic ladies, singing, studying and sharing His powerful and living Word.

Third - to the ladies.
In Nov and Dec, on Weds, from 7:30-9pm, set your navigation system to 394 Terra Mesa Way, Milpitas, CA. 95035. Come early. Come promptly. Never be late, except for an exception. As you know, your husbands can help and encourage, but you must open up your heart, you must hunger and thirst after our Lord and His word. You must decide to make the best decision for your spiritual wellness. As God has placed your husband to be the head of your family, then I would say that God has placed the wives to be the backbone of the family, for without you, we don't stand. So, dear ladies, stand well with Jesus. Not only your health, but your family's wellness is also at stake. (I can already hear you ladies starting your car, eager to come. But until Nov, will you be so kind as to send your husbands to our place....)

May we always learn to delight our God through our decisions and encouragements.
Pastor Joshua

Thoughts For The Volleyball Tournament

Dear beloved in Christ,
What matters most to us Christians? Is it not the glory of our God?

Drenched in our sweat, pounded by the sun's heat, and entrenched in a spirited competition, it is easy to lose focus on what matters most to us. Driven to win, we may sway to put down the other team, even though they are children of our holy God, and equally worse, we may "cheat" if it will produce a point for us. As you well know, this brings shame to our Father, and not glory. May we never do this. And if one of us falters here, let us gently, loving, wisely and yet firmly correct him/her, that we will not bring shame to our heavenly Father.

May we enjoy His goodness throughout this day. Cheer well, both for our church, but also for His church on the other side of the net. Let us learn to be thankful in win and in a loss, so that our Father is always glorified. As you know, if we win at the cost of bringing shame to our Father, then we are the worst losers of all. And if our brothers/sisters on the other side of the net are succumbed to their temptation, then be gracious and overlook their sins, for Christ's love covers a multitude of sin. And I believe this bring glory to our Father.

So, let us all remember, we enter into this tournament, not with the goal to win, but with the earnest desire to bring glory to our Father. Yes, brothers and sisters, can you picture God's joy, as we delight to bring glory to Him?

If you would like to read a bit more of my thoughts on this tournament, then please read the 2 page attachment. You can read this in Korean, inside the program for Saturday's v-ball tournament schedule.

Thank you for giving me time for refreshment, prayer, and long thoughts.

Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend.
Pastor Joshua and his better-half, Nadia
